I want to tell you about our staff vacation in very early month in 2008.
I think , you all also know Mawlamyaine which atmosphere of post-colonial decay is still palpable here;it's also an attractive , leafy, tropical town with a ridge of stupa-capped hills on one side and the sea on the other.
Mawlamyaine served as capital of British Burma from 1827~1852.
Today it's Myanmar's fourth largest city with a population of around 300,000, composed roughly of 75%Mon or some mixture of Mon, plus Karen, Burman, Indian, Chinese and other ethnicities.
Getting There & away
Air Myanmar Airways flies direct from yangon one week two times.Buses to Mawlamyaing are available from the Highway Bus Center In Yangon.it's take less than 8 hours to get to there.

Kyaik-maraw, this small but charming town 24 km s-e of Mawlamyaine, famous for Kyaik maraw sitting posture of Buddha Image, built by queen shin saw-pu in 1455.
Mudon south of Mawlamyine, about 30min drive from Mawlamyaine.
it's famous for World largest reclining Buddha image about 125 m long, and alsu you can see 500 standing images of Buddha's disciple , and also see outstanding features of stupa and so many images in inside the reclining image. it's hollow type.
Than byuzayat , south of mudonand nearly one hour drive from mudon(64 km from Mawlamyine), It's known for "Death Railway" and Allied War Cemetery.
Kyaikkami,24km from Thanbyuzayat,was a small coastel resort and missionary centre known as Amherst during the British era.
